OPEN SOURCE LICENSING & DISCLAIMERS

CHIMERA COMPUTING CORP. — OPEN SOURCE LICENSING & DISCLAIMERS

1. Open Source Models and Software

Chimera servers may include optional, preloaded open-source software, models, and tools that are each governed by their own license terms. These components are not owned by Chimera and are made available subject to the applicable open-source licenses.

Examples include (but are not limited to):

  • Llama models licensed under the Meta Llama Community License Agreement (full text available from Meta).

  • Other libraries, tools, or components distributed under OSI-approved licenses such as MIT, Apache 2.0, GPL, BSD, or similar.

Users are responsible for reviewing the license terms governing each component.

2. User Obligations Under Open Source Licenses

Depending on the specific license, user responsibilities may include:

  • complying with attribution requirements

  • observing any commercial-use restrictions

  • honoring requirements regarding modification or redistribution

  • maintaining license notices when redistributing licensed components

Chimera does not modify the terms of any open-source license.

3. Modifications, Redistribution, and User Responsibility

If users modify, fork, redistribute, or combine open-source components with other systems, they do so at their own risk.

Chimera:

  • does not provide legal clearance for derivative works

  • does not certify compliance of modified software

  • does not assume liability arising from altered or redistributed versions

Users must ensure that any such activity complies with all applicable open-source licenses and regulatory obligations.

4. AI Model Risks (Bias, Inaccuracy, and Hallucination)

Open-source AI models may produce:

  • biased or unfair outputs

  • inaccurate, incomplete, or fabricated (“hallucinated”) information

  • unpredictable or non-deterministic behavior

Users must independently verify critical outputs and must not rely solely on these models for:

  • legal

  • medical

  • financial

  • safety-critical

  • compliance-dependent

decisions or operations.

Chimera is not liable for harm or losses resulting from use or reliance on AI-generated content.

5. Regulated and Commercial Use Considerations

Users are solely responsible for ensuring that any use of AI or open-source models complies with:

  • industry-specific regulations

  • privacy and data-protection laws

  • consumer protection rules

  • restrictions imposed by the upstream license

Chimera does not warrant that any open-source model is fit for use in regulated environments (including medical, financial, legal, biometric, or governmental applications).

6. Data Security and Local Execution

Chimera servers enable local execution of open-source models. When using third-party or cloud-based tools:

  • Chimera does not have access to customer data

  • Chimera does not store user prompts, content, embeddings, or RAG data

  • RAG interactions may pull data from local or user-configured sources, depending on configuration

  • Customers must avoid entering sensitive, proprietary, or legally protected information into third-party tools unless compliance is verified

Users assume all risks associated with cloud-based execution or integrations.

7. Compliance With Licenses

Because Chimera does not alter upstream licenses, users must refer to the original licensing agreement for each included model or component.
Chimera does not provide legal advice or guarantee compliance with open-source licensing obligations.

8. Indemnification (Narrow and Enforceable)

Users agree to indemnify and hold harmless Chimera from claims arising directly from:

  • violating third-party open-source licenses,

  • redistributing modified versions of open-source software, or

  • deploying models in a manner that violates applicable law.

This indemnification does not extend beyond the user’s own actions.
